I've wrapped faceted whiskey quartz "petals" with fine gauge solid 18k gold wire to form flowers. At the center I have clustered sparkling rock crystal quartz on solid gold wire and headpins.

These earrings measure 1 1/2 inches long and the flowers are about 3/4 inches wide.
